Privacy Policy
The short version: Your resume never leaves your browser. We don't upload it, we don't store it, we don't share it, and we don't sell it. The analysis runs entirely on your device — the moment you close the tab, the file and its contents are gone.
1. Who we are
ATSChecker.io is a free ATS resume checker operated by SmashingDocs. Our goal is to help job seekers verify that their resumes are ATS-friendly — without requiring an account, payment, or any personal information.
2. How the checker works
When you drop a PDF or DOCX file onto the uploader, your browser parses and analyzes the file locally, on your device. Your resume is never uploaded to a server — not ours, not anyone else's. All scoring, keyword detection, and recommendations are computed in client-side JavaScript. When you close the tab or refresh the page, the file and its parsed content are released from memory and gone for good.
3. What we do not collect
We do not collect, store, or process:
- Your resume file or any of its contents
- Your name, email, phone number, or address
- Your employment or education history
- The results of your ATS analysis
Because the analysis happens in your browser, there's simply no data for us to collect in the first place.
4. Cookies and analytics
We may use privacy-respecting analytics (such as aggregate page view counts) to understand how the site is being used. These tools do not identify you personally and do not see the contents of any resume you analyze. We use session cookies only where technically necessary for the site to function — no marketing or advertising cookies are used.
5. Third-party services
ATSChecker.io is powered by SmashingDocs (smashingdocs.com). Following external links — including SmashingDocs or resume template pages — will take you to third-party sites governed by their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for those sites' data practices.
The checker loads a small number of standard web libraries (for parsing PDF and DOCX files, and for fonts and icons) from reputable content delivery networks. These libraries run in your browser and do not receive your resume content.
6. Children's privacy
ATSChecker.io is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
7. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
